Free Balloon Race Setup

Today I’ve introduced free race setup.

Running a race still costs £39, but instead of paying upfront, the fee will now be deducted from your payout.

On average, I currently send a BACS payment of £272.40 per race (based on 100 races). That’s roughly the same as selling 100 balloons or ducks at £3 each, after the 12% card processing fee.

The main reason for this change is to make things easier for the volunteers who run these events. Many PTA and charity organisers end up paying the setup fee themselves (often late in the evening) and then having to claim it back. This removes that hassle completely.

If your race sales don’t reach £39, I’ll never ask you to cover the difference.

For organisers who upload a CSV and don’t use Stripe payments, this effectively makes the platform free. If you’d still like to contribute towards the upkeep of the site, feel free to drop me an email and I can send an invoice.
